![]() 6.2 Above Average Plenty of content may keep you occupied for a while, once you get the hang of it the combat can be fun, nice character models; Feeble story, repetitive, technical errors, there's nothing to entangle players beyond the standard hack'n'slash routine and free-roam gameplay. | » All About Two Worlds on ActionTrip
Technically, Two Worlds is a huge disappointment. Owing to numerous issues, players are sure to get discouraged very quickly. Apart from specific bugs, like bodies from fallen enemies floating in the air, the game suffers from a severely flawed engine. Physics and collision leave a lot to be desired, especially while your character is on horseback. Your mighty steed literary sticks to trees way too often, refusing to budge despite repeated efforts. It won't be long before you're going to want to smash your PC to bits. This jamming made me give up on horseback completely.
![]() Look, don't be too depressed, buddy. It's just a game. |
![]() I hate this horse! |
On the aesthetical side of things, Two Worlds does have its moments. The backdrop features plenty of vegetation, on top of realistic weather effects and day/night cycles. The models don't look too bad either, with enough detail on NPCs, monsters and the main character.
As expected, you have to possess a pretty strong rig to run this sucker smoothly. Otherwise, be prepared for serious frame-rate drops. So, once again, lousy programming and feeble design moments get in the way of decent entertainment.
Overall, we were mostly frustrated while playing this game. Chalk it up to a poorly optimized engine, a dull and generic fantasy world, all drawn from an exceedingly overused gameplay concept.
Two Worlds hits the States next month, which should give the developers enough time to iron out all the technical hitches. Three patches have already been released and you would be highly advised to install them before playing the game.
If you still have your heart set on trying this game, at least heed our advice and stick to the X360 version. It's bound to be better than what we've experienced with the PC edition.

| Game is not that bad but it does get repetitive. Yeah it does need a quite powerful rig although I love the loading, very fast. Anyways, how do you change the right click button circle thing in the hotbar to another slot? |

| Well at first I had a few issues with this game untill i patched it to 1.2 after that most of the problems went away. I do hate that you cant pick a female and it does have limited choices for class to start, but all that changes when you start. This is a rpg a fantasy rpg thats obvious, i dont know what the reviewer was expecting? SciFi mabey lol Any way no suprise its what i expected it to be more or less minus a few bugs, matter of fact not to many games are released these days bug free sigh* Well I like the game it was worth the money i paid for and at least its got a dev team trying to patch it up, i like that. I rate this 80%, my machine has this game turned up to max graphics and at 16 anio/16 antlias 1280x1024 no slowdowns no hicups. my machine is not top of the line either IntelE6600 GTS 8800 2 gig ram. not a bad machine but not a GTX Quad either lol. Anyway youll get milage outta this game and then some esp if you like fantasy rpgs, which this never has claimed not to be in the first place DOH. dont know why the review was so puzzled over this game being a fantasy rpg it dosent hide that fact. Oh the horse acts like a real horse, if you run it into a tree it will get suck, hint dont run into trees steer around them instead. |

| 62??? Come on, guys seriously, the game is not that bad. Sure it has its flaws, but all in all it is quite decent. Nothing we have not seen before, thats true, but that is not a problem. C&C 3 did not bring anything new and it still kicked ass. I would give about 73-75 for this one. | ||

| Well, this is Vader, guys. Just be glad that he doesn't alter the plan any further and uses his dark powers to flip numbers to make it a 26 instead of a 62 :D . From all I seen this game is uber crap anyway though so 26, 62, 42... who really gives a shit? Fuck this game. | ||
Amok: Well, I'm dry on games. 'Till I try out this game for myself...

| This game totally sucks. I just walked around killing some monsters one day and I got a weapon that killed any enemy with one hit. The weapon added +12 to a skill, that increases your weapon damage by 20% per each point. Before that I was good but now i'm invincible. After this I made a mage but it was impossible to play because you didn't have enough mana and area of effect magics didn't usually hit the monsters. I just bought a quite expensive computer but the graphics were horrible. Plus I had to wait one month before they made a patch to support my graphic ard. Also the loading times in the start and after every graphical setting change were about 5min. My rating: 30 It's funny that at their homepage they have only ratings made by germans and all of them are around 99 points. I recommend you no to even try this game |

| I am thinking of getting this game. But in any event, where do they get reviewers from nowadays?! All this guy wanted to talk about is how t was a fantasy game again - well, what else do we get? Wasn't Oblivion another fantasy game? Gothic 3? Even Diablo?! Fantasy is fantasy is fantasy! While I agree we need more non-fantasy open world games, like STALKER and the KOTOR, etc. even Far Cry 2 is being planned as an open-world ala Oblivion - so there is hope. But to go on about this game being fantasy based - well, as said above, DUH! I also keep saying over and over that we need a different reviewing system for these open world, free-form games. Every single one of them - literally, every single one of them has been released with bugs. This is due to the difficulty of producing these games versus how easy it is to do a rail shooter, it is also due to there being so much data, so many options you would need 10,000 play testers to find all the bugs - what small publisher, or large publisher for that matter, afford this? Open-ended, free-form games like this give 80-100 hours of gameplay versus the l2-20 that rail shooters give - so I know where my value for money is at! It is reasonable that to some extent we will always have to be free playtesters for these types of games. It's the nature of the beast, but I will put up with that as long as the game is supported with patches, because there isn't a day of the week where I wouldn't prefer 100 hours of gameplay for my $50 rather than the 12-20 hours so many other genres offer! SO while I haven't got the game yet, this reviewer. like so many others, just doesn't seem to 'get' the genre. While it gets marked down for being bugged, which every game in this genre has, it does not get marked up for having 5 times the gameplay and therefore 5 times the value! That seems a might unfair, and strikes me, that like the adventure game genre before it, the media are going to kill another genre by not understanding it. | ||
