During my time with the game, I encountered a few path-finding issues, usually occurring when I tried to send my troops to more distant locations on the map - though I believe this to be an ever-present and extremely persistent problem in almost every RTS. Apart from that, the game had a problem running a scripted event in one mission, causing me to reload that particular scenario 4-5 times, until the sequence finally kicked-off. This happened in one mission, although it was a frustration.
The defining characteristic of Dawn of War 2 is its unbelievably addictive multiplayer, which kind of reminded me of CoH. In this instance, some may object to the absence of classic base building. While it may be a missing ingredient from some angles, it certainly doesn't denote you'll be bored during online or LAN matches. The best part is that you get to kick ass with other races; Orks, the Eldar and the all-new Tyranids. This adds tremendous variety to the proceedings, not to mention it allows you to experience battles from diverse perspectives (which would've been a great advantage in the single-player). The Tyranids are a must-play, if you're looking for any fresh elements in the multiplayer. They're very fun to control and feel quite different from other available races.
So, what we have here is an extremely addictive strategy game that, honestly, could've blossomed if extra work was poured into the single-player component. For several reasons, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2 provides a better gaming experience as multiplayer game and a bit less as a solo challenge. One of the main reasons, of course, is because charging across the battlefields and claiming your territory against live opponents feels far more gripping than doing so in single-player. This doesn't mean the AI won't put up a fight in the main campaign. The fairly decent storyline will keep you on your toes as well. The only real bummer, like I've said earlier, is that the missions repeat themselves more often that they should, thus making a great portion of the campaign redundant.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 8.1 Very Good The multiplayer, atmospheric battles, decent storyline, first-rate soundtrack and solid voiceovers, well-designed maps, addictive RPG-like gameplay mechanics; Single-player lacks depth thanks to repetitive mission design, a number of bugs that need to be ironed out.
