Finally. Ubisoft confirmed that they are bringing the lovely, cartoon-style
platformer, Rayman Origins, to the PC (it's also one of those games I played
in 2011, but just couldn't find the time to review - I'll make up for that,
you have my word)...

Okay, for all of you who are playing The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings right
now, here's a useful bit of info. CD Projekt just released a patch for the game,
offering a few changes. Here are some of the major changes:

If you're looking forward to playing Super Street Fighter IV Arcade on the PC, be prepared to be online all the time. Without a constant internet connection and a Games for Windows account, out of the 39 available characters (all unlocked from the start), you will only have access to 15, and other limited features...

It appears that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will feature use SecuROM
copy-protection for the game's retail version, which, as they say is the least
intrusive way to protect its content from piracy. This was confirmed by CD Projekt
during the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference...

According to a report from a
very outraged Ars Technica, the author of the article is still locked out
of playing Dragon Age: Origins since April 9, as have other users. This is as

Just a quick not on our earlier
report about the Dragon Age: Origins DRM not working. According to an update
on BioWare
Social Network the server issue has been resolved. BioWare's update is short
and to the point: "This should now be fixed - please login and retry."

Good Old Games announced that it's going to
be a sole DRM-free distributor of the Digital Premium Edition of The Witcher
2: Assassins of Kings. As a sister company to CD Projekt RED.
GOG’s copy of The Witcher 2 will not contain any DRM, unlike all other versions
of the Digital Premium Edition...

As video game publishers continue their desperate struggle against that foul
whore piracy, gamers often find themselves on the receiving end of crappy anti-piracy
measures such as Ubisoft disastrous DRM scheme. But like many foul whores, piracy
also serves its purpose when the going gets tough...

There's a post over on the BioWare
Social Network forum, which goes into detail about the Dragon Age 2 PC DRM.
Of course, Steam DRM is going to be packed with the Steam versions. Other versions
though will authenticate themselves "after a select period of days" (still not
specified)...

As we
reported a couple of days ago, players started to spread the word how an
active Internet connection isn't required to play Ubisoft games. The news arrived
from story published by PC Gamer UK, but we didn't get any official word on
it...

Here's a bit of interesting news you may have missed during the Holidays. Word
has it that an active Internet connection is no longer required to play Ubisoft
games.
PC Gamer UK reports that the French publisher released an update that removes the necessity for some of Ubi's games to have an Internet connection in order
to be played...

Unlike most of Ubisoft's recent major releases such as Assassin's Creed 2,
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Splinter Cell: Conviction, the upcoming
strategy game R.U.S.E. will not be utilizes the

Activision Blizzard (as well as Sony and a handful of other publishers) are
being sued by Uniloc - a company specializing in computer security and copy
protection initiatives. It appears that the abovementioned publishers, supposedly,
infringed on Uniloc's patents for what's basically DRM...

Namco Bandai Partners VP, Olivier Comte. commented recently that Ubisoft's
controversial DRM system is "a good strategy" - albeit only because there
isn't a better alternative at the moment he said.
Namco stressed that until something better is brought to the table, Ubisoft
DRM scheme - which requires a constant Internet connection - is what's best...
