BBC reports
that after a massive
online protest, that took place on
Wednesday, the US Protect IP Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Privacy Act
(SOPA) have been postponed indefinitely. House Judiciary Committee Chairman
Lamar Smith (R-TX) had this to say: "I have heard their concerns regarding proposed
legislation to address the problem of online piracy...

It seems that a new ticketing system is set to begin during the E3 2011, to
counter the increasing numbers of counterfeit and resold tickets that have been
encountered on the doors. Badges were sent to the press well before the event
to make things more easy...

The E3 draws to a close and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) already
confirmed that a total of approximately 300 exhibitors and 45,600 attendees
from 90 different countries visited the E3 2010 in Los Angeles.

The E3 2009 is behind us and the show officially gathered over 41,000 attendees
from 78 countries. There have been 216 exhibitors this year. “The ESA has put
on a great show for the game industry," said Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello.

The once strong flames of the E3 seem to have died down in the past few years.
With the E3
Media and Business Summit being slammed by both publishers and the press,
rumors surfaced about the those flames being snuffed out for good this time...

LucasArts,
Activision
and Vivendi - all made the decision to discontinue their partnership with
the Entertainment Software Association. The latest company to join in is id
Software.
For the time being, id hasn't given an exact reason why the developer left
the ESA...

Apparently, another game developer/publisher opted to leave the Entertainment
Software Association. This time it's LucasArts, which officially confirmed that
its are no longer a member of the organization.
ESA said: "Today, we can confirm that one of our members, LucasArts, has decided
not to renew its membership...

Activision and Vivendi Games confirmed what was suspected
earlier this morning; mainly that they have discontinued their membership
with the Entertainment Software Association.
We've also learned, as you may have gathered from one of our previous news
posts, that Activision
won't attend the E3 this year...
