H.J.: Did I ever tell you to eat up? Go to bed? Wash your ears? Do your homework? No. I respected your privacy I taught you self-reliance.  H.J. Junior: What you taught me is that I was less important to you than people who had been dead for over 500 years in another country and I learned it so well, that we've hardly spoken for 20 years.  H.J.: You left just when you were becoming interesting.

Entertainment is at a funny stage I think. Looking up movies on IMDB used to help me determine whether or not I should watch them. Apart from the rating, I'm aslo keen to know what genre it is. Lately, however, movies touch on many genres, so each time I check a movie it says: comedy, drama, sci-fi, history, adventure, action, crime and horror...

The Last Starfighter and Flight of the Navigator - boy, I sure liked those when I was a kid. Sometimes, I just miss the cheesiness of the 80s. Also, for some reason, I had to watch Tombstone last night. Don't know why, but I just had to.  Maybe I miss heroes I can look up to and stories I believe in. Maybe it's just a generation thing. And maybe I'm getting sick of gritty, realistic story-telling and just want to get lost in the fantasy.

Sorry, folks we're talking movies again, because I just can't find any particularly enlightening game-related topic at this time. Okay, there are many game-related topics, I'm sure, but this is the perfect time not to talk about any of them...

Little Miss Sunshine is a movie I didn't get to watch, despite so many recommendations from friends and colleagues. Now, I finally found the time and here are my thoughts. In an age where I just don't know what story-telling is anymore, Little Miss Sunshine made me feel grateful for every minute I devoted to it...

People should put a stop to trailers. Not entirely, of course. But the way they are now, they just seem a bit pointless. They reveal too much. I'm talking about both movie trailers and trailers for video games. Some years back when you went to see a movie, you hardly new what to expect and as a result, the movie was all the more exciting (if it was a good movie)...

I'd like to start this week with a question: just where the fuck is Hollywood going? How much is too much? Now, some things look fun, but again, it all seems to hinge on the same stories that were told a million times before. Also, why in the name of tits am I still so easily amused and teased with bullshit like this? This shit really makes me want to pay for a movie ticket.

I have absolutely no idea what most of you guys do for a living and I find that it's better that way. Still, sometimes I am curious :) so you can write what you do for a living, if you wish. No matter what you do in life, make sure that you give yourself some space to indulge in a hobby of some sort, preferably something that involves creativity in any shape or form...

Filed under: TV, INFORMATION, MOVIES, BOOKS, READING
From this day forth, I vow to read more books and play less video games, and watch less movies. The problem with reading books is that it takes too much time and people don't have time to devote several hours a day or even one to a good book. No. It's more important to search for imaginative variations of fisting...

Who's your favorite villain? We continue in the spirit of the music thread and the movie discussion. Once again, you name three and only three. Also, speaking as a heterosexual, here are my favorite villains: The Joker (Ledger's Joker, naturally) Loki (both in the Thor comics and in the movies The Avengers and Thor) Jim Moriarty in the new Sherlock Holmes TV show (UK version, of course) That's it for me.

We continue in the spirit of yesterday's musical thread, although in a slightly different direction this time. This time, I'd like you to name three movies. Remember, three of your favorite (or most memorable) movies. If you wish, you can name a trilogy, but if you do so, that's it...

Wait, what, what, what's this I hear? Prometheus is meh!? No, wait, but it's Ridley Scott and it has Michael Fassbender as a synthetic person in it. What more could you possibly want? Didn't see it myself yet, but Un Om Bun did is and, apparently, he's not happy with it...

Good Monday, people. Apparently, The Avengers started getting some attention from movie critics. The movie officially hits theaters on May 4, but it's comforting to know that initial reviews are mostly positive. So far anyway. What makes me want to watch this film? Well...

Glorious times are ahead for the entertainment industry. According to Variety, EA is "eager to capitalize on studios seeking their own 'The Fast and the Furious'-type franchise, with the videogame publisher tapping sibling scribes George and John Gatins ('Real Steel') to adapt 'Need for Speed' into a feature...
