There's a report over at PWGM, confirming that the next Hitman game won't be developed by Rocksteady Studios, as we reported a few days ago (thank heaven for that!). "This is the first I’ve heard about it. Hitman always has been and always will be IO Interactive’s baby, which it still continues to be so. Rocksteady are not involved with the development of Hitman 5," said Ian Livingstone, Eidos Creative Director. You can relax now, everyone.

According to the profile of actor Mark Sloan on Casting Call Pro, the next Hitman game may not be done by the series' creators IO Interactive, but rather by Rocksteady Studios (cheers, Blue). No official word on this yet. Rocksteady is currently wrapping up their project Batman: Arkham Asylum, while IO is working on Mini Ninjas. This may be just an honest mistake. Last we heard, Eidos is preparing both Kane & Lynch 2 and Hitman 5 with IO Interactive.
