It's a shame really. Here we are ready to post some new screenshots from Tecmo's
upcoming beat-'em-up game Dead or Alive 5, and yet it seems they've sent along
a batch of images that lack the game's special and well-known boob-flavored
punch. Oh well, must be some mistake. We'll let it slide... this time:

Here's more interesting news from the ongoing Tokyo Game Show. Tecmo Koei officially
confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 3 is on the way, with Team Ninja handling the development.
GamePro
has the word that the project is "so early in development." So early, in fact,
that the devs couldn't show off more than one concept art image...

The long legal
dispute between Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the Dead or Alive and Ninja
Gaiden series, and development studio Tecmo finally comes to an end. Both sides
Tecmo and Itagaki have reconciled the lawsuit, filed by the game designer in
summer 2008...

Yes, indeed. The title says it all. Check out the latest
screenshots from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
The developers are working to deliver an enhanced version of the previous
release - i.e. Ninja Gaiden 2. Team Ninja is targeting Sony's PlayStation 3
platform and they promised PSN support, in addition to new content...

The E3 brought a surprise announcement from Tecmo. It's a PS3-exclusive shooter,
currently in development at Team Tachyon. With the way things are in the industry,
it's not unusual to see development teams inspired by the gameplay mechanics from Epic
Games' Gears of War series...

Tecmo promised they would be making a major announcement during this year's
GDC in San Francisco. While many speculated it could be Ninja Gaiden 3 or a
brand new installment in the popular Dead or Alive series, it turns out that
the company was actually referring to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2...

Last week Square
Enix offered to purchase a majority stake in Tecmo. It was also said that
should Tecmo reject the proposal, Square Enix won't be pursuing the matter any
further. Reuters

Square Enix has plans to purchase a majority stake in Tecmo, offering Tecmo
shareholders a 30% premium over the firm's Aug. 28 closing price. If Tecmo agrees,
it would remain under the Square Enix Holdings umbrella, retaining its brand
name and corporate structure...

Microsoft and Tecmo are happily declaring that one million copies of the X360-exclusive
Ninja Gaiden II were sold around the world. Well, Tecmo
may be in a slump right now, but this should encourage the publisher a wee
bit.
Ninja Gaiden 2 was one of the rare titles I've enjoyed this summer...

The ninja-slicing bloodbath, otherwise known as Ninja Gaiden II, recently received
downloadable content in the form of a Mission Pack. As soon as it was released,
numerous users started complaining about corruption errors when they unlocked
the first new achievement...

Team Ninja, the development studio behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, is
apparently seeking to try its talents out in a new genre. Their next project
is geared towards a 2009 launch, as reported by Bloomberg.
Team Ninja is, of course, still owned by Tecmo...

Tecmo's 360-exclusive, Ninja Gaiden 2, will be getting its first downloadable
content, which is going to be available for a price of 800 MS Points. It's scheduled
to go on sale on July 25, as confirmed by Microsoft. We're told that the DLC
features a Mission Mode with 25 high-score and survival stages...

crappy situation at Tecmo is in full swing it seems and the publisher has finally drawn its dragon sword, filing with the Tokyo District Court for a "gag-order" against former employee
(Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden creator) Tomonobu Itagaki before the case goes
to court...

Yesterday two Tecmo employees filed a lawsuit against the company, with the
Tokyo District Court, for unpaid wages (thanks Kotaku).
They're demanding 8.3 million yen (US $77,000) in payment. According to the
suit, the workers were illegally placed on a "flexible hours" work scheme that
began 4 years ago...
